Sabin and Vargas II (FFVI fanart)

Artwork made as a gift for fashion-jerk as part of the DOINK-ffex exchange. I wanted to flesh out Sabin and Vargas's relationship, since Vargas just shows up as a quick boss fight and then is never heard from again, which is a shame because he's such a cool/interesting character. My thoughts on Sabin and Vargas's relationship through the years is also expressed as a fic.

This is them sparring as teenagers (Sabin is about 16 here), before the death of Sabin's father. They're both still kind of gangly at this point and haven't quite started to beef up. Vargas is clearly the better of the two at martial arts. He also has the tendency to glower when he's concentrating, like during these matches. As for Sabin, I wanted his resemblance to Edgar to be more obvious at this age.
